How to Keep Driving Safe When You’re Young at Heart

It is said of the Baby Boomer generation that we never believe we are actually “old.” However, our bodies betray our youthful attitudes and our abilities to do challenging everyday things. Driving a car is one of those things.

Technically, senior-citizenship starts at 67 years of age, according to when our government’s full Social Security benefits kick in. With medical science and health awareness on the rise, we are living longer, and driving is one of the last bastions of independent living in our culture.

I recently had lunch with some of my high school girlfriends and discovered that many of them avoid driving at night and never drive long distances by themselves – and we’re only in our mid-50s.
