RCT Leans Towards Renault Vans

The staff of RCT Homes opted for Renault when they were given the opportunity to choose which manufacturer would provide their new fleet. RCT Homes, Wales’ largest social landlord put in an order for 51 of Renault’s Master vans for their maintenance crew who traverse all over Wales taking care of homes on more than five dozen housing estates and in 27 sheltered housing schemes.

RCT Homes has a new way of taking care of housing; RCT does this by being a community mutual organisation. By being a community mutual organisation, RCT Homes has five of their tenants sitting on the RCT Homes Board; the tenants play a major part in looking over new policies and procedures and in the oversight of RCT Homes major decisions. In choosing which vans to order, one member from each trade team of RCT Homes was involved in checking out the interior of the vans to make sure that the vans that the organisation leased would be practical and meet the needs of the team out on the road. The teams went to Shropshire so that everybody had an opportunity to test drive the new vans.

After putting various demo vans through rigorous tests, the drivers were asked to respond to a survey, the survey showed that the drivers preferred Renault hands down.

One of the tradesmen of RCT Homes, Andrew Rigby commented that involving the workers in the decision making process has resulted in the boys being happy about having new vans that are suited to their personal trades.
